a day at the museum

I like markers, their bluntness, no in between´s (depending on the markers used of course). But then all materials have their "thing". Today´s drawing: a part of this Xmas plant (never know the exact name) which is still growing in the middle of spring.
Yesterday I went to see the exhibition Bestiarium by artist Walton Ford http://www.waltonford.org/en/exhibition/  I really enjoyed it. Huge watercolors, it is like looking into the work of 19th century zoo and botanical illustrators but not quite, there is a twist in color and composition that brings the painting to present day. It surprises me when I look at art and still find works that I can relate to or that I feel something moving in me. At the same museum there were some Any Warhol´s and I confirmed I love his work, and I also confirmed that Beuys says not much to me. Another artist  whose work I liked seeing is Anselm Kiefer, such powerful paintings. Looking at art can be an extreme experience: joy and dissapointment.
